Camping Trips: Yes or No?
If you’ve been looking for something new to do – either alone, with family or friends – you might be wondering if you should take a camping trip. Camping trips can be taken spring, summer and fall. In some places of the country you can even take camping trips in the winter too.
Whether or not a camping trip is right for you depends on a few things. Most people consider camping to be an experience everyone should have at least once in their lifetime. If you love nature and the outdoors however, or really enjoy having seclusion and solitute, you might be amazed at how much you enjoy camping. It can be quite fun, exciting and adventurous for the right person.
Whether or not you personally should go on a camping trip or not though will depend on several things. If you don’t particularly enjoy nature for example, you might not want to go camping in the woods. If however, you do like to go swimming and boating, you may enjoy taking a camping trip to less remote campgrounds which have those activities readily available.
If you’re used to the modern conveniences in life and you can’t imagine cooking over a campfire, you might not enjoy primitive tent camping trips. You could however, have a great time if you went camping with an RV, Motorhome or camper trailer instead.
Since Motorhomes and camper trailers are often designed to be very much like a small apartment, they usually have standard “home” like features such as a stove, sink and bathroom. For some people these are neccessities that can’t be lived without, so they wouldn’t even consider taking a camping trip without them.
Taking a camping trip the “old fashioned” way – in other words tent camping – is an excellent way to have a vacation or a bit of alone time while spending very little money. Instead of paying $70-$100 or more each night for a hotel room for example, you could spend just $10-$20 for a camping space instead. And there are even free places across the United States where you can go camping, so when money is super tight you can still take a trip and barely spend any money at all.
Choosing to take an inexpensive tent camping trip is an excellent way to allow yourself more time for relaxation and fun. Instead of having to cut short a vacation because of budget restraints, you can usually go on a camping trip that lasts one to two weeks for less than 3 days of a conventional vacation. You can also create a hybrid trip using camping too. Instead of getting a hotel room near a popular vacation spot, you could get a camping spot near there instead. Then you’re paying much less for your lodging while still being able to visit the attractions you wanted to see for vacation.
So, whether you should take a camping trip really depends on you and your personal wants, needs and desires. In most cases though, camping trips are the types of experiences that everyone remembers fondly for the rest of their lives.
