Camping is Fun in Many Different Ways
Camping is Fun in Many Different Ways
When you think of camping, the thoughts you have might be quite different than what others think of. That’s because there are many different styles of camping, and all of them can be quite enjoyable for different types of people. Let’s look at some of the most common forms of camping:
1. RV Camping. If you’re a city dweller who’s never been on a camping trip before, your idea of camping probably involves the use of an RV or camper trailer. This type of camping feels a bit safer to anyone who hasn’t been out in the wilderness before, and it also gives you many of the same conveniences of home. For instance, most RVs or camper trailers have a kitchen and bathroom in them, so you’re not forced to cook on a Barbecue grill or campfire, and you don’t have to go to the bathroom in the bushes. Most RV campgrounds also have electric and water hookups too, so you can have as much convenience during your camping trip as you’d like.
2. Campground Camping. The next step towards wilderness camping, this style of camping is convenient for many families who aren’t used to be out in the wild, but are still comfortable roughing it a bit. Using a campground means you have some modern conveniences close by - there’s usually a community bathroom that you can use for instance, and sometimes even showers. There also tends to be park rangers or security close by at campgrounds, so you have someone to contact in an emergency. At the same time though, you’re able to build a campfire if you’d like, pitch a tent, or sleep under the stars.
3. Wilderness Camping. This type of camping is usually the most “rough”, and it should only be done by experienced campers. When you take a wilderness camping trip, you’re usually going to do a bit of hiking and backpacking just to get to your chosen camping spot. There is not usually anyone around for miles - sometimes hundreds of miles - and there are no modern amenities of any kind. In fact, there’s not even usually an existing campfire pit. You have to create one all by yourself.
Regardless of what you define camping to be, it’s always great fun because you get to spend time with friends and family, and it’s extremely relaxing because you truly “get away from it all” when going on a camping trip.
